Mt. Sinai

"On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast... Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire... The whole mountain trembled violently.  As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him.  The Lord descended to the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain..." Exodus 19:16-19

... And we got to climb that mountain!  The same mountain where Moses walked, where God descended, and where God spoke to Moses!!  To say the least, our trip to Mt. Sinai was an incredibly spiritual experience.

We traveled six hours on a bus from Cairo to reach Mt. Sinai.  When we arrived, we climbed the mountain with some new friends from our church, and reached the top by sunset.  After a picnic dinner, we read Exodus 19-21 as the sun slipped down below the horizon.  It was so amazing to be there at Moses' old stomping grounds!  It really made those biblical stories come to life for me.  I'm so thankful that we had this experience!

We also took some fun optical illusion pictures while in Sinai... Moses probably did the same thing, right? :)
